History of Bray Credit Union Limited

The inaugural meeting of Bray Credit Union took place in February 1964 and the credit union opened for business in April 1964. In line with the movement, Bray Credit Union quickly established itself as a key provider of financial services to its members and grew steadily over the past 51 years.

What is the difference between a Credit Union and a Bank?

A credit union is an organisation of people - for people It exists only to serve its members - not to profit from their needs unlike banks. Credit Union profits are distributed right back to their members. Because of this, Credit Unions often charge lower fees than banks and pay higher interest rates on savings accounts.
